A group of Bajrang Dal protestors on Friday vandalised the Indo-Pakistan food and lifestyle exhibition in Kanpur as retaliation to the release of mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.
“Over there (Pakistan), you release Lakhvi and here, you trade like the East India Company. There is completely wrong, Bajrang Dal Kanpur Mahanagar will not accept this at any cost,” said one of the protestors.
“If they try to do this (exhibition) again, then this is just the beginning, there will be grave consequences. We will not just criticise them, we will declare war,” he added.
On Thursday, the Lahore High Court struck down the detention order of Lakhvi and ordered his release.
The court was hearing a petition filed by Lakhvi challenging his fourth one-month detention ordered by the Okara DCO on March 14.
The court ordered his release based on the lack of reliability of the sensitive information provided and also directed the accused to pay 20 lakh rupees in surety bonds to Adiala jail.
Lakhvi is among seven people charged with planning and carrying out the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. (ANI)
