Terming it a case of love-jihad, West UP convenor for Bajrang Dal, Balraj Dungar told TOI, “We got information that a Hindu girl was being forced to marry a Muslim youth, after which we got into action and found the information to be correct. They were both present at the collectorate and the girl was made to wear a burqa. This is entirely a case of love jihad and we have no qualms in saying that we stopped this marriage from taking place.”
Later, the police intervened into the matter and took the girl and the boy to a police station. The police also called their parents to ascertain the facts in the case.
No action has been taken against any of the Bajrang Dal activists.
