Bajrang Dal activist’s murder: One more arrested in Mumbai

Mumbai: The Karnataka Police on Saturday arrested one Imtiaz Guntal Katte in connection with the murder of Bajrang Dal activist Prashant Poojary. Katte is the ninth person arrested in this case.

The police arrested Guntal Katte from Mumbai, where he was preparing to fly to Dubai.

Poojary was hacked to death by a group of six men who came on motorcycles wearing masks and wielding knives. The incident took place on October 9 in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka.

The Bajrang Dal activist had actively participated in a campaign that led to the closure of a slaughter house in the Moodabidri of Dakshina Kannada.

According to reports, his killing is being seen as a revenge killing resulting out of communal rivalry.
