Bajaj Auto on Monday reported a 26 per cent increase in motorcycle sales at 2,64,249 units in March.
The company had sold 2,09,937 units in the year-ago period.
Total vehicle sales last month stood at 3,05,800 units, up 22 per cent, as against 2,50,604 units in the same month a year earlier, Bajaj Auto said in a BSE filing.
The two-wheeler major said its exports rose 3 per cent during the month to 1,01,519 units from 98,703 units in the corresponding year-ago period.
In the commercial vehicles category, Bajaj Auto’s sale in March increased by 2 per cent to 41,551 units compared with 40,667 units in the year-ago month.
For the fiscal ended March 31, 2016, the company sold 33,58,252 bikes, up 2 per cent, from 32,92,084 units in 2014-15.
Total sales of the company stood at 38,93,581 units during the last fiscal, up 2 per cent, as against 38,11,201 units in the 2014-15 financial year.
