Johannesburg: England wicketkeeper-batsman Johnny Bairstow has described his side’s upcoming tour to South Africa as `massive` and said that he is looking forward to secure a successful series for himself as well as for the team.
The 26-year-old believes that it would be great for England if they managed to give some good performances against the world number one team, adding that he hopes they could clinch the series.
Referring to the South African conditions, Bairstow said that England, which recently toured the UAE for the series against Pakistan, would face a massive transition in the touring nation.
Bairstow, who had earlier replaced Jos Buttler as a wicketkeeper in the UAE, will also aim to cement his spot as England’s first-choice Test wicketkeeper in the forthcoming tour, Sport24 reported.
England will play a three-day warm up match against a South African Invitational XI before heading into a four-match Test series against South Africa, starting from December 26 in Durban.
