Bahadurpura police colony faces dilapidation

3 to 4 decades ago colonies were constructed in the city to provide residence to the workers of various government departments. 200 to 300 flats were constructed for the workers’ family. However the magnificent colonies of their time are now rapidly losing their grandeur. Some have been even transformed into relics.

Police quarters Bahadurpura can be a good example in this regard, which was constructed nearly 32 years ago. Now the very existence of Bahadurpura colony is at risk.

There are altogether 15 buildings in the colony with 18 flats in each building. The colony, which is in very precarious condition, is spread over 4 acres of land. Peepal trees have grown in the back sides of each building and the cracks endanger walls and basement. Leaking roofs and water seepage in the walls of buildings are a common sight. There is no one to pay attention towards the precariousness of buildings. There are piles of garbage here and there and there is no drainage system either.

Sadly the families of the persons, who are busy round the clock for the peace of the city and social work, face so many problems.
