Baghdad, January 27: The attack took place on Thursday in Baghdad’s predominantly Shia neighborhood of Shuala — located in the northern part of the capital city.
An Iraqi Interior Ministry official had earlier said that “15 people were killed and 25 others were wounded by a car bomb that exploded near the tent where a funeral ceremony was being held.”
However, a source with the Iraqi Defense Ministry told Reuters that the death toll has reached 35 with 50 others injured.
