Congress senior leader and ex-MP V. Hanumantha Rao on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Municipal Administration & Urban Development K. Tarakarama Rao for State Government’s failure to handle rain situation.
VHR, who held a day-long dharna at Indira Park on Wednesday, said that the condition of roads in Hyderabad has turned worse. He said that GHMC has completely failed to repair bad roads and no steps were taken to fill the potholes. Besides causing inconvenience to citizens, travelling on bad roads is proving fatal for many people.
TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the TRS Government has failed to maintain the infrastructure which was created during Congress regime. Ex-minister Marri Sashidhar Reddy said that the city now faces the threat of outbreak of epidemics due to the negligence of civic authorities.
Former PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, ex-Union Minister Balram Naik and other senior leaders also participated in the dharna proramme. (INN)
