Bad Bahu robbed 2 Saas

New Delhi, May 31: Woman allegedly robbed her two mothers-in-law of Rs 24 lakh, nabbed by police after 15-day hunt
She can make a mean mango shake. If the police are to be believed, Meetu Talwar (28) is not the daughter-in-law of dreams.

On the night of May 15, Meetu allegedly served her mothers-in-law Savinder Kaur and Har Kaur some mango shake which knocked them unconsciousness. Next morning the two elderly women found the house ransacked and cash and jewellery worth more than Rs 24 lakh missing. When the police expressed suspicions of insiders being involved, Meetu escaped with her daughter the next afternoon.

“We had received a complaint of theft from Har Kaur, 60, resident of Krishna Park in Tilak Nagar area on May 15 and we have now arrested 6 people in this case and recovered jewellery worth Rs 24.2 lakh in cash. On May 16 an FIR had been lodged against the daughter-in-law of the family,” said Sharad Aggarwal, DCP (west Delhi).

“During investigations our team found no signs of forcible entry and we suspected that some insiders were involved. Also after the woman had escaped, we searched for her parents and other family members and found them missing too,” he said.

The police traced Meetu’s family to Mani Karan area in Himachal Pradesh. But when teams were sent for raids in the area they found nothing there. Then the police got information of the accused being at Meetu’s maternal aunt Timmy’s house in Hari Nagar area of west Delhi.

Meetu Talwar, Kamal Nain (Meetu’s brother) and Parminder Kaur( Meetu’s mother) were arrested from Hari Nagar area and during interrogation they confessed to the role of their in-laws Jagminder Kaur aka Timmy,42 (maternal Aunt), Sukhbir Singh,55 (maternal uncle) and Maher Singh, 25 (son-in-law of maternal aunt). The rest of the accused were also arrested from the same area.

During interrogation Meetu confessed that she took a large loan from her maternal aunt, and had also taken loans from other people for the treatment of her ex-husband. But she failed to pay back the money.
“Seeing no way out Meetu’s mother Parminder Kaur and her brother Kamal Nain planned this conspiracy. On the night of May 15 Meetu served her mothers-in-law the spiked mango shake and then robbed the house,” the DCP said.

Meetu escaped to Himachal Pradesh with her daughter and family. They were also trying to dispose off the jewellery and pay off the debts.
Meetu was earlier married to the elder son of the family Narender Singh. But Narender fell ill and died after some time. Then Meetu married his younger brother Nirmohan Singh. Nirmohan is a businessman and is currently in the UK.
