Back injury forces McCullum out of remainder of Bangladesh series

New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has been ruled out of the final two matches of the Bangladesh leg of the Kiwis’ tour including today’s third ODI and Wednesday’s T20I, with a bad back.

According to Stuff.co.nz, McCullum underwent an MRI scan on his back and the side’s medical team decided it was best to get him home for further review and to begin rehabilitation.

The goal is for McCullum to get back to full fitness for the home summer starting with a tour from the West Indies, the report said.

Physio Paul Close said that McCullum’s back needs careful management as it is giving him significant pain.

New Zealand play Bangladesh today in Fatullah, but have already lost the three-match series, the report added. (ANI)
