BAC turns down debate on T issue

Hyderabad, February 15: The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly today turned down the opposition demand for a discussion on Telangana issue in the wake of the Centre appointing the Srikrishna Committee.

Assembly Speaker N Kirankumar Reddy, chairing the BAC meeting to fix the agenda for the Budget session, ruled that there was no need for discussion on the issue as the Centre had appointed a committee to look into the issue, Assembly sources said.

The BAC decided to hold the session till March 30. The Budget would be presented by Chief Minister K Rosaiah, who also holds the Finance portfolio.

The House would take up tomorrow discussion on the motion of thanks for the Governor’s address and the Chief Minister would reply to the debate on February 19.
