BAC meeting ends abruptly without taking any decision

The meeting of the Business Advisory Committee called by the Speaker Nadendla Manohar to discuss about allotting time to discuss about corruption has ended abruptly without taking any decision, on Tuesday. The ruling party and the opposition could not reach an agreement on the issue. The BAC may meet once again later in the evening.

It may be mentioned here that the opposition parties have been demanding the dismissal of the ministers to whom the Supreme Court has served notices in Jagan assets case and a debate on the issue. TDP and other parties have been stalling the proceedings of the house for the past seven days in succession.

To sort out this issue, the speaker has called the BAC meeting to discuss the issue and remove the stalemate after the opposition parties stalled the business of the house for the seventh consecutive day on Tuesday.

Following this, the Speaker has told the members that he would hold a meeting of the business advisory committee and fix time for the debate. However, no decision could be taken in the BAC meeting.

The BAC met again in the evening in a bid to solve the crisis. It was decided at the meeting that the issue relating to Corruption could be discussed in the House on March 28. The Speaker has given an assurance to this affect. The BAC would meet again on March 22. (NSS)
