Banswara: A baby was found dead inside a house in Banswara district of Rajasthan. The infant was around a one-and-half-month old girl and was recovered from the locked house, police said on Saturday.
Both the parents of the child were not present at home and returned after they were informed about her death on Friday, police officials said, as per a report by Hindustan Times.
Investigating officer Manohar Singh said according to the preliminary probe, the child’s parents had a fight on Thursday after which her mother left the house for her parents’ home. Soon, the child’s father too left the house, leaving his daughter alone in the locked residence, which falls under Kotwali police station limits, Banswara, the IO said.
An Anganwadi worker on Friday informed the police about a stink emanating from the house. The police reached the spot and recovered the body of the child from the house, Singh said.
The body has been handed over to the parents after post-mortem, he said, adding probe is on and the exact reason of the child’s death could be ascertained once the autopsy report is out.
