Cape Town, July 26: A 14-day-old baby boy has been abducted from Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town while his mother lies in a coma, police said on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk said night nursing staff noticed the baby was missing from his crib in ward J-2 at about 20:30 on Friday.
They reported the matter to the police.
“The baby’s mother from Delft has been in a coma for some time and is currently still in the intensive care unit at the hospital.”
No photograph of the child is available. He is known as BZ Ncumani.
A case of abduction has been registered with the police.
