CHANDRABABU BLASTS CM, CONG LEADERS—ATTENDING WEDDING
NEGLECTING PEOPLES’ PROBLEMS
The Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu lambasted the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Congress party leaders for ignoring the peoples’problems and making merry by attending marriages and meetings aimed at show of strength.
The TDP chief resumed his padayatra from Pedda Chintakunta on Sunday morning, after a break of two days, due to the demise of TDP senior leader K Yerrannaidu in Srikakulam district. He took strong exception to a number of Ministers and Congress party leaders taking part in the wedding of PCC President Botcha Satyanarayana’s daughter in Vizianagaram, while the Neelam cyclone has created havoc in many districts of the state and the people were put to untold sufferings due to the heavy rains. After attending the wedding celebrations, now they were busy in the meeting at Delhi today to show the party’s strength.
Stating that the Neelam cyclone had played havoc and thousands of farmers had sustained huge losses as crops in lakhs of acres were lost, Naidu flayed the Government for not taking the required measures and ignoring the cyclone warnings. He said the Chief Minister had lacked proper understanding on the situation in the State, and he is acting as Emperor Neiro. He regretted that while crops were lost in many lakhs of acres in the State, the Government was not taking serious note of the tragedy.
Naidu demanded an explanation from the Chief Minister on whether the wedding in Vizianagaram and the Delhi show were important, or the people’s problems. He said that if the TDP comes to power, they would develop the State and solve the problems of the people. The TDP chief earlier garlanded the photo of Yerrannaidu and paid tributes to him.
The TDP chief is slated to visit the flood affected areas on Monday.
