Babu assures revival of NTR janata scheme

TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has assured that if he came back to power, he would reintroduce N T Rama Rao’s Janata cloth scheme for the welfare of the handloom weavers.
Naidu made the Handloom Declaration at Kothapalli, during her ‘Vastunnaa Meekosam’ padayatra. He showered a series of boons on handloom workers.

Naidu also said that he would implement free insurance to the handloom workers and pay pension of Rs 1,000 to the aged handloom workers. He also said that Rs 1,000 crore would be allotted for the handloom sector in the annual budget every year. He also assured to give 50 percent subsidy for silk and cotton yarn and 30 percent rebate on handloom sales. He would also set up a handloom corporation, he added.

Stating that Handloom Bazaars would be set up all over the State, he said he would provide power at subsidized rates for the looms. Coming to politics, he said the Governor’s action on the Dharmana issue was a slap to the government. He demanded that the Chief Minister, who tried to shield a corrupt person should resign on moral grounds.

Condemning lathi-charge on the students, who protested against gangrape in Delhi, he said it was heinous that the police chose to use violence against the peaceful agitators. Naidu said the people were getting baffled with the power bills. He claimed that it was to the credit of his government that it provided uninterrupted power supply despite severe drought. Alleging that the government was robbing the people in the name of surcharges, he said that it was to the credit of his government that women were provided equal rights and opportunities on par with men.
