Babu asks people to make “BAND” sucessful

(NSS): TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the people to participate in the proposed Harthal (closure) on Thursday and make it a big success, so that the Central government would roll back the price of petroleum which it hiked recently.

In a statement here on Wednesday, Naidu stated that the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre and the State government had made the lives of the poor and middle class people miserable, by slapping on them taxes to the tune of thousands of crores of rupees. The government also hiked the petroleum and diesel prices 26 times, and had not decreased the prices in India though there was fall in prices internationally, he said.

The TDP president stated that it was atrocious that the price of petrol was hiked from Rs 38 to Rs 82. He stated that though several State governments have reduced the tax on petroleum and
offered relief to the people, there was no such response from the Congress government in the State. He stated that the policy of using income through the sale of liquor and fuel to fill the coffers was a policy of bankruptcy, he stated and asked the people to support the Opposition-sponsored harthal, He stated that the people should make the protest by the Opposition a big success and ensure that the prices were rolled back.
