New Delhi: Hearing of the Babri Masjid title dispute was held in the Supreme Court of India before a 3-member bench. At first senior advocate Rajiv Dhawan representing the Muslim side in the Ramjanmbhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute case on behalf of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), placed his arguments before the bench and said the Babri Masjid was demolished not by the miscreants but by BJP people. He further said if we are proud of the Indian secularism we must build Babri Masjid on the same place, because the masjid was demolished on 6th December 1992 with a planned conspiracy.
During the argument, he said two rath yatras were taken out before demolishing the masjid. He said the events occurred in 1949 and 1992 are a blot on secular India. An idol was first placed into the masjid then it was demolished. He said Babri Masjid was constructed during the Mughal period and Britishers gave it legal status.
Dr Rajiv Dhawan said he gets phone calls asking for resolution of Babri Masjid dispute through consensus but I feel that since Babri Masjid was demolished it should be constructed on the same place. He said masjid, temple, gurudwara all have their own positions, and they cannot be demolished. Once a masjid is constructed it always remains a masjid its status doesn’t change even after it is demolished. Muslims are asked to offer namaz in Masjid, they cannot offer prayer anywhere except for some sharia excuse.
