Babri Masjid demolition: security tightened on 26th anniversary

Ayodhya: On the 26th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition elaborate security arrangements have been made in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Section 144 has been imposed in the district. On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition, on December 6, Hindu organisations like Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have declared to observe the day as ‘Shaurya Diwas’ (day of bravery) and ‘Vijay Diwas’ (day of victory), while Muslim organisations have claimed that they will observe Yaum E Gham’ (day of sorrow) and ‘Yaum E Syah’ (black day).

Following the announcements, security measures have been intensified in Ayodhya. Cordon and search operation is being carried out at many places. Section 144 has been imposed.

According to UNI, police superintendent of the city Anil Kumar Sisodia told that on the 26th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition various organisations have announced several programs. Keeping that in view, security has been beefed up in Ayodhya. Besides local police and 10 companies of PAC and RAF, 12 additional police superintendents, 40 sub inspectors, 50 police station in charges and 100 constables have been deployed.
