Sangareddy, March 19: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev who is planning to float a new political party on Friday said that he himself would not participate in active politics nor would he contest elections.
“Wait till June this year, the party and its manifesto will be made known. There are many honest politicians even today and we invite such persons and other like-minded people in our party,” Baba Ramdev, told reporters after conducting a yoga camp.
Over 20,000 people attended the camp which was organised at Ambedkar stadium.
Baba Ramdev said he would continue his campaign for making India free of corruption, casteism, communalism, terrorism and other ills, and adding that he would neither contest elections nor participate in active politics.
Reiterating his view on Telangana issue, Ramdev wanted the Centre to respect the sentiments of the people of the region and demanded for making Telangana a separate state.
“The Centre should make its stand clear on Telangana issue and come out with a early decision in the matter,” he said.
