New Delhi: Social activist and Arya Samaj scholar Swami Agnivesh lashes out at Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev for his version of patriotism and the horrendous violence he showed towards those who refuse to chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
Ramdev launched a scathing attack on all those who refuse to chant the slogan “Bharat Mata ki Jai” by saying “there is a rule of law and we respect constitution otherwise we can cut off hundreds and thousands of heads.”
As per India.com news, Agnivesh said, “What Ramdev has done is criminal. He is sowing seeds of horrendous violence in the minds of unsuspecting people within an ambience of faith.”
He said that the yoga guru would do well to take vanvaas for meditation and self-purification.
“He has lost all rights work under the saffron banner and masquerade as a spiritual guru. The right course of action for him would be to take vanvaas for meditation and self-purification,” Agnivesh said in a column he wrote for The Indian Express.
The Arya Samaj Scholar also slammed the ruling BJP, calling it a threat to Hinduism. “Vedic culture is all about tolerance. But today, I need to write that Hinduism is in peril. The cocktail of politics, corporatisation and communalism under the name of Hinduism threatens its authenticity,” he said.
