B-Town wishes fans Happy Dussehra

Mumbai :Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit Nene have come forward to “mark triumph of good over evil” on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.

Today’s burning of Ravana’s effigies marks the end of Navaratra and the beginning of 20-day-long wait for Diwali, festival of lights, to celebrate the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya after killing the demon king.

Bachchan posted on Twitter, saying, “On the auspicious day of Dussehra, my wishes and prayers for all… Good always prevails over evil.”

“May this day clear all the hurdles of your life and start a new era of well-being. #HappyDussehra,” Madhuri wrote.
Rishi tweeted, “Wish all a very Happy Dussehra! Let truth and goodness prevail. Wake up worldwide we need peace and tranquility.”

Shahid Kapoor, whose film “Shaandaar” released today, asked fans to watch the movie.

“Happy Dussehra all. Let’s make it a #ShaandaarDay.”

Farhan Akhtar, who is currently shooting for “Rock On 2” in Shillong, said, “Happy Dussehra to all from the #RockON2 team .. #twitterpetohbantahai.”

National-award winning actor Rajkummar Rao wrote, “Happy Dussehra everyone. May we all find the strength to choose love and peace over hatred and violence.”

“Celebrating the triumph of good over evil, here’s wishing you all a very Happy Dussehra!,” Sonakshi Sinha tweeted.

Bengali actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen said, “Happy Dussehra beautiful people! A promising sunrise… I prayed for the greatest good for us all! Dugga Dugga.”

“Happy Dussehra all! May the good prevail in not just our actions but in our thoughts too, life is too short to waste it on anything else,” tweeted “Lunchbox” actress Nimrat Kaur.

Actress-politician Kirron Kher said, “Wishing everyone a Happy Dussehra. May god bless us all with prosperity and good health!”
