B -Town pays tribute to Siachen brave heart Lance Hanamanthappa

New Delhi : Bollywood celebrities have expressed their condolences on social media to the Siachen Glacier avalanche survivor, Lance Naik Hanamanthappa Koppad, who recently passed away.

Expressing his condolence, actor Farhan Akhtar tweeted, “Saddened to read that Lance Naik Hanumanthappa passed away.. RIP. Condolences to his family..”

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor tweeted, “R I P. Lance Nayak Hanumanthappa Koppad.Proud forever!”

Sunny Deol wrote, ” RIP Lance Naik Hanamanthappa, you’ll always be in our hearts.”

Film director Shekhar Kapur wrote, “Even as we grieve your passing, your spirit continues to lift us with courage hope and pride #LanceNaikhanumanthappa #SiachenMiracle.”

Taking to his Twitter handle, Riteish Deshmukh tweeted, “RIP Lance Naik Hanamanthappa – thank you for your courage.”

Aftab Shivdasani wrote, “RIP Lance Naik Hanamanthappa .. Braveheart and protector of our nation. Condolences and prayers for his family.”

Actor Jackky Bhagnani shared Lance Naik’s picture, captioning it as, “He fought valiantly till the very end. Rest in peace Lance Naik #SiachenBraveheart.”

Additionally, film director Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted, ” Lance Naik Hanumanthappa RIP. Royal salute to our braveheart. ?????? #SiachenAvalanche.”

Hanamanthappa, who was among the 10 soldiers who were swept away by an ice wall on February 3 while guarding the Sonam post located some 20,500 feet high in the Himalayas, was rescued on February 8 from an altitude of 20,500 feet by a team of over 150 soldiers.

On recovery, the soldier was found conscious but drowsy and disoriented. He was severely dehydrated, hypothermic, hypoxic, hypoglycaemic and was in shock.

He was immediately resuscitated by the doctors at the site, who had been there for the past 5 days in the hope of a survivor.

Hanamanthappa, who hails from Karnataka, was flown to Delhi on Tuesday morning in a special air ambulance and admitted to the hospital.(ANI)
