B-town gives thumbs up to `Udta Punjab`

New Delhi : The much-awaited film ‘Udta Punjab,’ which highlights the impact and menace of drug abuse on the society, particularly in Punjab, has won the hearts of the members of the film fraternity.

The celebrities took to their respective social media handles to shower praise on the film, released today.

Applauding the film, Preity Zinta tweeted, “Just watched #udtapunjab & am stunned by the Performance of each actor.Punjab really needs this film. Trust me I know cuz I’m seen it first hand with #UNAIDS & the needle exchange program. #drugsdimaadi #Alia #kareena #shahid #diljit #Awesome #hardhitting #truth #abhishekh #ekta #phantom Ting.”

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt tweeted, “Abhishek Chaubey’s UDTA PUNJAB is an outstanding film. Shahid & Alia are the bravest actors in tinsel town.”

He continued, “Our lives begin to end the day we begin to reman silent about things that matter – UDTA PUNJAB matters because it looks at truth in the eye.”

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#UdtaPunjab is bold, brave and brilliant with bravura performances. Watch it!”
