Mumbai: The killing of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in the Pulwama terror attack has left the entire nation heartbroken, including Bollywood celebrities who are expressing grief and extending condolences to the families of the slain personnel.
Actor-politician Hema Malini in an interaction with the media said, “The incident that took place on Thursday is very heinous and very bad. It is so sad that our young soldiers were killed in such a bad manner. I am an MP from Mathura and I feel bad when I get to know that a lot of people have died from Mathura too. This time it did not happen but mostly it happens, and whenever it happens. I always go to their place to meet them.”
“I am under Narendra Modi’s regime, I am sure he will take a strong decision against these attacks. He will see what to do, I would not like to comment on this any further,” she added.
On being asked about the protests taking place, Hema said, “I’ll suggest that don’t do all these protests, if you really feel something I think you should go to them, meet them, help their families, help them financially rather than doing all these protests.”
Bollywood actor Esha Deol, who was also present at the event, said, “I feel very sad, it was very heartbreaking. My deepest condolences to all the family members of all the soldiers. As a citizen of our country, I request that as a nation we stand together. I want our leaders to take really strong action against this. It’s about time that a wrongdoer is taught a lesson. I feel very hurt for all those families and their loved ones back home.”
‘Golmaal’ actor Shreyas Talpade expressed “anger” over the attack and also added that these people should be prepared for the consequences now.
“Whatever has happened to all those families of the soldiers, what can we say to them at this point of time? Of course, there is support, we are praying for all the soldiers. We all are very upset because of this incident, there is a lot of anger,” he told ANI on the sidelines of an event on Saturday.
“We feel like how did these people even gather the guts to do all this? When India performed the surgical strike, we taught them a lesson and they know of it. Even after that if they have done this then they better be prepared for the consequences. Every time such a thing happens in our country, I always say that army service or army training should be made compulsory in our country as well. Right now there is a lot of anger and of course we want to avenge this and we will avenge it. For the families, we can only say we are there with you at this moment of crisis and whatever we can do for you, we will surely try to do,” he added.
Adding that the army and government are better judges of the situation, Talpade said, “I know they will take the right decision this time as well, just like the last time. We are completely there with them, in solidarity with their vision and actions.”
‘Badhai Ho’ star Neena Gupta opined that the government should provide employment to the youth in order to avoid such incidents. “I feel if the youth don’t have any work it is very easy to brainwash them. The terrorists who perform all these attacks, take the youth away and brainwash them into doing this, make them suicide bombers as well. So I think all the development should be stopped and for now just provide employment to the youth generation.”
Forty CRPF personnel were killed on Thursday after a suicide bomber rammed a car laden with explosives into a CRPF convoy in Awantipora area of Pulwama in Kashmir.
