B.Sc student accuses Kanpur cop of sexual exploitation

Kanpur : The Station House Officer (SHO) of the Nawabganj Police station in Kanpur has been accused of sexual exploitation by a B.Sc student over the pretext of marrying her.

A case under Sections 376, 323, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused police officer, Uday Pratap Yadav in the Mahila Thana.

It is reported that the graduate student of a local degree college has accused Yadav, who is already married, of sexually assaulting her several times on the pretext of marrying her.

Yesterday, when the victim had gone to lodge a complaint in this regard, she was allegedly beaten up by the SHO and his wife inside the premises of the Nawabganj Police station.

The accused and his wife thereafter threatened her of terrible consequences and escaped from the spot.

Following the incident, the accused SHO took a leave for five days and escaped.

The matter was later brought to the knowledge of senior police officials including Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shalabh Mathur, who immediately ordered an investigation into the matter. (ANI)
