In a fresh salvo, Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Wednesday accused Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik of “transforming” the Raj Bhawan to an “RSS Bhawan”. Talking to reporters, Khan also said in spite of knowing that the Ayodhya issue was pending in the Supreme Court, Naik has been commenting on the issue and “making a case of contempt”.
“Raj Bhawan has been transformed into RSS Bhawan and that was an attempt to hurt the democratic norms and uprooting of the system. Is he (Naik) an agent of RSS?,” Khan asked. The SP leader further claimed the Governor was making attempts to cancel his Assembly membership.
“The Governor has been making all efforts to get my UP Assembly’s membership cancelled but it is beyond his rights, accorded to him by Constitution, because I happen to remain an MLA due to record breaking votes casted in my favour by the electorate,” he claimed.
Khan said that whatever he says in the state Assembly should be acknowledged as the voice of the people and the Governor should stop finding faults out in his speeches.
