Azalea slams Ora’s idea of remaking ‘Lady Marmalade’

Rapper Iggy Azalea says she doesn’t want to be involved in singer Rita Ora’s planned remake of the popular number “Lady Marmalade”.

The rapper has blasted “The X Factor” judge’s idea of reworking on Labelle’s 1975 classic hit – which was later covered by Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, Mya and Pink in 2001 – and agrees it “should be left alone”, reports mirror.co.uk.

She tweeted: “Please leave me out of the whole Lady Marmalade conversation.

“I have nothing to do with ritas ideas & agree it should be left alone. Thanks (sic)”

Her message on Twitter comes after Ora told The Sun newspaper that she was keen to “round up the troops” for a new version of the soul song.

She said: “I’m trying to round up the troops. I think it would be me, Miley (Cyrus), Charlie XCX – she’d be fun – and Iggy (Azalea).”
