Azad serious about indiscipline: asks Botsa to axe dissidents

Union minister and AIC general secretary in charge of AP Hulam Nabi Azad reportedly directed the PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana not to tolerate indiscipline and take action against the MLAs who defied the party whip and voted against the government at the time of the no-confidence motion.

Botsa met Azad in Delhi and explained to him about the defiance of the MLAs supporting YSR Congress. He told Azad that they grossly violated discipline and defied the party whip. It is learnt that Azad said it was better to get them disqualified and go for by-elections. He told Botsa not to be soft towards MLAs supporting Jagan and recommend to the Speaker to take action against them.

After his discussions with Azad, Botsa left for Hyderabad. He is likely to complain to the Speaker Nadendla Manohar about the MLAs and recommend their disqualification. It may be mentioned that nine MLAs – Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao, Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, Aalla Srrinivas (Nani), M Rajesh, Perni Venkata Ramaiah (Nani) Jogi Ramesh, B Siva Prasada Reddy, Gottipati Ravi Kumar and Peddireddy Ramahandra Reddy – voted against the government when the no-confidence motion came up. Of these, the resignations of Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao, Aalla Srinivas and M Rajesh have been in pending before the speaker since a long time.
