Union Health Minister and In-charge of AP Congress affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad has ruled out the possibilities of mid-terms polls in the State after by-elections.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Azad said that the results of by-elections would not impact the State Government. He hoped that the Congress party would win all the seats where by-elections would be held on June 12. He described YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy as an inexperienced politician who lacks eligibility criteria to become a Chief Minister.
Azad said that Jagan would have faced the corruption cases even if he would have stayed with the Congress party. He said that the Central Bureau of Investigation has been investigating several cases of corruption across the country and Jagan’s case was one among them. He said the Congress party would never tolerate any kind of corruption and would not spare leaders even from its own party it they have indulged in corruption.
The Union Minister claimed that Kiran Kumar Reddy was efficiently implementing the welfare schemes introduced by former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He also dismissed the allegations being leveled against the Congress party and government by Pulivendula MLA Vijayamma.
Addressing the same press conference, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy hoped that the Congress party would win 18 assembly and one Lok Sabha seats which are going for by-polls. He praised the Congress workers for taking up an effective campaign and expressed confidence that the results would come in favour of the ruling party. (INN)
