Ayodhya case: Commandos deployed to avoid terror attacks, riots

AyodhyaThe much anticipated Ayodhya verdict is close to its judgement day and the government is taking all preventive measures to avoid violence that could change the history once again.

In a move to prevent any possible terrorist attacks, or riots, Snipers from the elite National Security Guard (NSG) have been deployed stationed at various points in and around the temple town of Ayodhya to keep an eye on the ground from rooftops, DC reports.

The decision to deploy snipers was taken at the last minute in view of the inputs received on terror groups believed to have sneaked in from Nepal.

The deployment of Sniper team from NSG has been confirmed by sources in Uttar Pradesh police.

The elite NSG, over the past two years, has obtained several new sniping weapons.

Up until now, the sniper squad was only stationed in the Kashmir valley with this being the first time of stationing sniper squad other than Kashmir.

Sources close revealed a terror module comprising seven Pakistani nationals had sneaked into UP from Nepal some time ago with five of the seven terrorists already been identified Muhammed Shahbaz, Nisar Ahmed, Abu Hamza, Muhammed Yakub and Muhammed Qami.

However Senior officers in UP police said the input was an old one and was not actionable, but ‘the Ayodhya police is working in close coordination with the anti-terrorism squad,”  said the senior official.
