NEW DELHI: As the Ayodhya dispute becomes a political, historical and socio-religious debate in India, Dhaibat Mukherjee, Kolkata-born, is BJP supporter but also accuses it of communal polarisation for votes.
Mukherjee, who has a post-graduate degree in English from Jadavpur University was over 3-months old when the 16th-century Babri Masjid demolishing incident happened in 1992 which sparked communal riots across the country.
Mukherjee first learned about the Babri Masjid demolition when he was in Class 8. “I remember wondering how such a thing was possible in broad daylight in a democracy,” he said. “It was such a massive failure of law enforcement. My father always said he could not believe this could happen.”

Mukherjee, believes that regardless of the Supreme Court verdict in the Ayodhya case, a riot-like situation is inevitable. “Be prepared for a riot-like situation regardless of the Supreme Court verdict,” he warned, reported Scroll. in adding “Why build temple and mosque when you can build school and hospital?”
Blaming the saffron party for polarising the country with its “act of hate” in 1992 but also claims supports development work of the saffron party in 2014.
He added that “the BJP engages in polarisation for votes” and this “will have its bad results”.
Mukherjee at the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be not likely make the same choices he had in 2014. As he put it, “One man is not the party.”
