Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Mr. M.T. Krishna Babu, IAS has issued instructions to create awareness among the public about the prevention of communicable diseases for which he ordered to conduct medical camps from 4th to 19th November. He convened a coordination meeting in which Ms. G. Rekha Rani, Joint Collector, L. Vandan Kumar, Additional Commissioner (H and S), District Medical and Health officers and Asst. Medical Officers of Health. In the meeting he revived the situation about the spread of Malaria and Dengue fever and suggested preventive measures. He instructed the officials of Health section to extend their cooperation to the corporators. He told them to keep them informed about organizing medical camps. He lamented that Govt. is spending crores of rupees to control communicable diseases but the efforts are not yielding fruitful result. He told the Health Officers of GHMC to create awareness among the public to adopt preventive measures.
