Awards distribution delayed due to lack of coordination between Dy CM and MFD: Farooq Husain

Congress MLC Mohammed Farooq Husain told that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had announced to give awards named after 10 great personalities including founder of Siasat Mr. Abid Ali Khan to the persons extending remarkable services in various fields. But the matter is delayed due to lack of coordination between Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and officials of Minority Welfare Department. He said ‘we met chief minister in his chamber in assembly on November 10 last year and requested him to announce cash awards of Rs. 1 lakh on the occasion of birth anniversary of first education minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad to the persons serving in various fields.

Chief Minister had agreed to the proposal and calling Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and irrigation minister Harish Rao to the chamber he had told ‘what we had to do is being done by Farooq Husain’. He had directed Dy CM to announce the awards and hold a function at Ravindra Bharati. But the awards have not been given so far and Minority Welfare Department officials have not received any written orders in this connection.
