Imran Khan has a piece of advice for people who complain of film promotions going over-the-top — if too much promotion bothers you, just ignore it.
“If something bothers you, like I say that some ads bother me, I put the television off. So, if people think that promotions are getting out of hand, they don’t have to pay attention, they don’t have to watch the film,” Khan said.
“It’s ultimately someone’s freedom and it’s their way of promoting the film. They are taking nothing away from you,” he added.
Khan said as an actor it is his responsibility to support the producer and participate in a film’s promotions.
“I think it is ultimately a personal choice. There is a producer, who is investing millions in a product. As an actor, it is my responsibility to make sure that this guy gets his money’s worth,” he said.
Last seen in Ekk Main aur Ek Tu, Khan is currently busy preparing for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola opposite Anushka Sharma. The film will also see Pankaj Kapoor and Shabana Azmi together on screen.
