Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today emphasized the need for removing administrative delays and hurdles to provide hassle-free and speedy services to the poor. The Telangana State was achieved after sacrifices and its denizens and people have many expectations on the government, he said. “Efforts are on to meet their expectations and we need to provide employment to unemployed youth in the State. We need to offer the best services to the people avoiding delay”, KCR stated at a review meeting with officials on Irrigation at Secretariat here.
The Chief Minister stressed he need to avoid delay in constructing irrigation projects. He directed the officials to prepare a plan to avoid delay and ensure that bills are paid to the contractors on time. Against the previous custom of completing the projects for decades and the TRS Government wants to complete them in just three years, he averred. The TRS government is committed to complete the irrigation projects to ensure that the agriculture sector gets waters on time for better yield. KCR also felt that the ongoing projects should be completed as per schedule with coordinated efforts. He asked the officials to expedite the Palamur and Dindi on Krishna, Kaleshwaram, Pranahitha and Dummugudem on Gadavri rivers.
Expressing satisfaction over land acquisition for the projects, the Chief Minister asked the officials to prepare a plan to directly give bills to the irrigation sector through budgetary allocations to disburse bills among the contractors. Every year Rs 25,000 crore will be allotted to Mission Kakatiya and payments should be made to irrigation and Mission Kakatiya schemes and give one per cent incentives to the contractors working for three shifts for the speedy completion of the projects.
