Automobile workshop inaugurated with TATA support in Agartala

Agartala: The first upgraded automobile workshop with the latest computer controlled machineries was inaugurated in Agartala aiming at skill development of local youths as per the industry relevant standard and to give them better understanding of the modern day vehicles for better employment scope.

S Ramadorai, Chairman National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) inaugurated the workshop in the ITI Indranagar Agartala campus in presence of Tripura Principal Secretary of Industries and Commerce M Nagaraju, Ravindra Pisharody, Executive Director TATA Motors, Biswanath Sinha, Associate Director TATA Trust and Ranjit Barthakur, Chairman NE Advisor Council, FICCI.

The upgraded workshop considered a centre of excellent automobile sector has been supported by TATA Motors Ltd.

Along with TATA Motors Ltd different other partners from automobile sector like Bosch, Fleetguard, Wabco, TATA Technologies, Castrol, JK Tyres and ZF Steerings have also put up learning centre within the ITI to provide training to students on latest technology.

The ITI Indranagar started its journey in the year 1959 with the craftsmen training scheme and later in 2010 successfully implemented the centre of excellence scheme in automobile sector under the public private partnership model with World Bank assistance.

Along with the workshop a driving school with simulator facilities was also inaugurated to improve the employability by optimally utilizing the infrastructure under the skill development initiative empathizing on vocational training to school leavers, existing workers and ITI graduates. (ANI)
