Greater Hyderabad Auto Drivers JAC on Saturday called off its proposed strike from the midnight of January 17 following an assurance given by PCC chief and Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana that he would consider their demands favourably.
Talking to the media, the auto drivers JAC declared that seven auto unions would not join the proposed strike. The JAC demanded that the government increase auto meter fares in conformity with the increasing LPG, petrol, diesel and all essential commodities. The JAC also made it clear that they would announce future course of action if the government failed to concede their demand by the end of this month. (NSS)
