Hyderabad: RTA has so far cleared applications of 1100 candidates applied for Driver-cum-Owner scheme for the unemployed youth to make poor Muslims of Hyderabad and Rangareddy self dependent. The scheme is implemented through Minority Finance Corporation and it is likely that auto rickshaws will be distributed to 600 applicants within one week.
The scheme launched with the special interest of Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali had a target of 1000 auto rickshaws, however 1800 applications were submitted online on which Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed to issue auto rickshaws to all the applicants. In the first phase auto rickshaws were given to 500 applicants. Clearance was given for 600 auto rickshaws in second phase. 10 auto rickshaws were released by Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali during Hajj Camp.
