Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Friday launched the ‘Driver-cum-owner’ scheme under which 1000 poor families will be provided auto rickshaws. Candidates can apply till October 22. Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya attended as chief guest.
Mohammed Ali told that 1000 auto rickshaws will be issued under the scheme in Hyderabad and Rangareddy. Candidates will be selected through draw. He assured that the scheme will soon be extended to every district and at least 500 autos will be distributed in each district.
Giving pat on the back of officials on successful implementation of ‘Shaadi Mubarak Scheme’ Mahmood Ali told that Rs. 109.42 Cr. was released in one year to give financial assistance to 21454 girls. He hoped that the target of 1 lakh will be met in 5 years.
