To ensure preservation of the beauty of the iconic structure Charminar, ban on vehicular movement and plying of autos within 150 meters radius of the 400-year-old monument Charminar will begin from June 18 onwards. Plying of autos from 12 midnight to 9 pm around Charminar was banned from June 2 but extending the ban the traffic police has banned entry of auto rickshaws round the clock.
According to a report prepared by Archeological Department Charminar is turning black due to pollution caused by passing of vehicles in the area. Therefore, in the wake of ever increasing pollution and obstruction to pedestrian ways by the autos and other vehicles, the police decided to restrict the vehicular movement.
