Auto Drivers Unions JAC has demanded that the State government direct the Road Transport Authority to immediately register 300 autos which were purchased seven months back. It also threatened demonstrations if the government fails to respond.
Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Mohd. Amanullah Khan, TADJAC leader, demanded that the government adequately compensate the auto drivers concerned for delaying registration of new autos as against G.O. No. 90.
He expressed anguish that several auto drivers were unable to pay installments to auto financiers, who lent money for buying new autos. He also alleged that Traffic police personnel were imposing heavy penalties for not getting their vehicles registered. (NSS)
