Expressing gratefulness to the TRS government for taking a historic decision of scrapping vehicle tax with arrears on autorickshaws, the Telangana Auto Drivers JAC on Sunday profusely thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for his gesture. The JAC also decided to observe “Drivers Day” on October 16 every year to express gratitude to TRS supremo and Chief Minister KCR.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, Telangana Auto Drivers JAC leaders Mohd Amanullah Khan, J. Ravinder, SKB Jama, Lakshminarsaiah, Azeemudin and others said on October 16 every years, the auto drivers in the entire State would run the autos with displaying TRS party flags. They said apart from rallies, they would also conduct various programs and celebrate the day as festival. They also said they would felicitate the Chief Minister KCR with “Thulabharam” (weighing with coins) .
The JAC leaders also announced that they would burn effigies of previous Congress and TDP governments on Dasara day every year on par with burning of epic demon king Ravana as these governments did not spend even a single rupee for welfare of auto drivers during their regimes for past 57 years in spite of their prolonged protests.
Alleging that the leaders of these two parties were making meaningless and mindless accusations against the TRS government, the Auto Drivers JAC leaders they would take the slogan of “Long Live TRS government – Death to Congress & TD parties” among the people. They also urged Chief Minister KCR to grant Rs 5 lakh ex gratia to the family of Mir Mujahid Ali, who was killed on the spot when a private bus hit his auto on September 15. (NSS)
