Auto drivers complain to Police Commissioner against Andhra Financiers

Hyderabad: Despite the formation of separate Telangana State, the atrocities of Andhra Financiers are continuing. These financiers have made the lives of auto drivers difficult. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Mirza Rafatullah Baig, President Greater City Auto Owners’ Association. He submitted a memorandum to Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad in which he has mentioned the difficulties faced by poor auto drivers and their impact on society.

He mentioned that the auto rikshaw of Osman was seized by the financier in Yousufguda whereas he had already paid more than the loan amount. Giving the details of the transaction, Mr. Baig told that Osman borrowed Rs. 90 thousand. He promised to repay it in 24 installments. He paid 19 installments amounting to Rs. 93,950 and still five installments have to be repaid whereas the total amount of these installments works out to Rs. 24, 850. In addition to these installments, the financier charged Rs. 24000 as interest. The financier is demanding Rs. 45000. The auto rikshaw seized from Osman will not be returned until this amount is cleared. The Financiers told that they are not afraid of police or court. The complaints of the auto drivers do not have any bearing.

Mr. Baig told that police does not take any action against such financiers under the pretext that it is a civil matter. He requested the Police Commissioner and Dy. CM to ban the activities these financiers who belong to Andhra region. He also mentioned that as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, no vehicle could be seized without prior notice but these financiers utilize the services of rowdy sheeters. As per the RBI rules, these financiers have no right to transact such business.
