Hyderabad traffic police sent an auto-driver to jail for one day after he was caught driving without license for the second time. According to sources Malakpet police stopped Yedukondalu at Dilsukhnagar and asked to show license but he failed to produce license on which traffic police arrested him and produced him before Special Metro Politian Magistrate. The judge pronounced jail sentence for a day after which he was shifted to Chanchalguda jail.
In the case of transport vehicles like auto, lorry and taxi, the first-time offenders are sentenced to court arrest till the rising of the court and repeat offenders are to be sent to a day’s imprisonment in the Chanchalguda central prison.
In the case of non-transport vehicles like private cars and bikes, first-time offenders are fined Rs 500, second-time offenders are being sentenced to court arrest till the rising of the court and third-time offenders are to be sent to the Chanchalguda central prison for a day’s imprisonment.
