Authors must cite sources while writing history books: Kodandaram

Stressing the need of mentioning the sources while writing history, Telangana Political JAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram has said several protagonists, though they were not historians, have written the history of Telangana but failed to mention the sources.

Speaking to the media after releasing a poster of ‘Telangana Charitra-Samsruthi Rashtra Avatharana Udyamalu’ book here on Friday, Prof. Kodandaram said two historians Prof. Adapa Sathyanarayana and Dr Dyavanapalli Sathyanarayana have written ‘Telangana Charitra-Samskruthi Rashtra Avatharana Udyamalu’ book with authentic information with sources. The book has useful content for the students preparing for competitive examinations like TSPSC and other State competitive examinations, he said.

One of the authors Prof. Adapa Sathyanarayana has said they took pains in writing the history of Telangana with informed sources. He said there was a need to protect the Shasanas and revealed that this book was written by examining over 4,000 Shasanas. “This book is like a lighthouse to the TSPSC aspirants. The book has history of Telangana since 3lakh year old Shathavahanas to Asafjahis till the formation of separate Telangana State.

Advisor to Telangana State government and retired IAS officer A K Goel said there was a need to publish such books in a big way. Speaking on the occasion, Orient Blackswan Private Limited senior business head, higher academics, Satish Valla said the book will be released in the market very soon. The book was published by Sangam Books (India) Private Limited and distributed by Orient Blackswan Private Limited.

Another writer Dr Dyavanavalli Sathyanarayana, Orient Blackswan Private Limited representatives D Lalith Prasad (Senior Area Sales Manager, Social Sciences & Humanities), K Umakanth and others participated in the program. (NSS)
