New Delhi : The French Embassy on Thursday said the authenticity of the threat letter against French President Francois Hollande is yet to be established.
“The Consulate General of France in Bengaluru has received a threat letter. The Consulate has informed the Indian police of this letter, whose authenticity is yet to be established,” the embassy said in a statement.
Sources said the letter was posted from Chennai, but the police has not been able to trace the location yet.
Meanwhile, Additional Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, Harisekaran said it’s a single page letter, having ‘Al Qaeda’ written at the bottom.
A case was registered at the High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru on January 14.
The French President will be the chief guest at this year’s Republic Day parade. (ANI)
