Austria Government plans to overhauls the country’s century-old law on Islam.

The Austria Govt plans to change the 100 years old law on Islam which was introduced by Habsburg Emperor Franz Joseph in 1912, and since then Islam has been an official religion in Austria.

This law avail Muslims, a wide-ranging rights, including religious education in state schools like Catholics, Jews and Protestants.

The new abstract which is partly aimed at tackling Islamist radicalism, forbids any foreign funding.

After more than a 100 year many thinks that changes need to be made according to Modern era of Austria, But some parts of the government’s draft, has caused a controversy that this law bans on foreign funding for mosques or imams.

According to sources half a million Muslims live in Austria, almost 6% of the total community.

The Austria’s official Islamic Community says it reflects a widespread mistrust of Muslims and the Govt fails to treat them equally.

But Austria’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Integration Sebastian Kurz told that the ban was a necessary step, he further said that “With other religions, there is no challenge that we have to fear unlike Islam, influences from abroad and therefore have to be stricter with financing,
