An Australian delegation, led by Hon Steven Ciobo, MP, Parliamentary Secretary, Foreign Affairs, Trade and Investment, called on Telangana Minister for Industries, Handlooms, Textiles Jupally Krishna Rao today in the Secretariat in the morning.
The visitors appreciated the Telangana government on its new industrial policy and informed their interest in partnering with the State in the coming months. They said this was their first trip to India and were impressed with the Telangana and looking forward towards collaborating in several fields in which Australia specialises and was impressed with the way the young State was moving forward in industrialisation.
They said their expertise in several fields could be helpful in setting up a number of projects in Telangana, especially in Mining, Agriculture and Water management in which they are No. 1 in their continent. Their expertise in other fields such as drip irrigation, infrastructure, Education and road safety and felt they both would prosper when the bilateral trade starts. Their water management, being the top of the line would be very beneficial in water management especially in cross boundary water issues.
The Minister apprised them of the current scenario of the State and how it was ready for industrial revolution and the sops being given to the industries being set up in the State, the availability of the huge land banks in all the districts and that industrial parks are ready for plug and play.
Secretary for Industries Arvind Kumar, Commissioner for Industries Manika Raj, Narasimha Reddy, MD & VC TSIIC and other senior officers took part in the meeting.

Met the Minister today afternoon. They expressed their interest in setting up manufacturing units for Cell phone components, automotive parts, and in Housing and infrastructure .Minister explained that Hyderabad is well placed geographically, and very near to the port unlike other places like Noida, that time for transportation would be drastically reduced and so would the cost.
The Investors wanted to promote logistic points for incoming and outgoing goods, Power and Infrastructure, keeping in view their presence in 60 odd countries and are planning to bring in an investment of around 1000 crores in the coming year along with a comprehensive plan.
Minister informed that the cost of land in far much lesser than other metros and that they could buy or lease land. Land can be provided in a single place where a cluster of industries can be accommodated. Secretary Industries Mr. Arvind Kumar was also present in the meeting.(NSS)
