Centurion, September 30: Australian (Aus) pacers restricted Pakistan on 205 runs. Pakistan (Pak)set 206 runs total before Australia to seal the semi finals berth here at SuperSports Park in Centurion.
India’s chances are very much depending on the outcome of Pakistan vs Australia match in the Champions Trophy.
If Pakistan defeat Australia here, the chances of Men in Blue will be alive. On the Other hand, Aussies need a win here to qualify for super four.
Electing to field, Australian bowlers gave no room to Pakistani batsmen and restricted them to moderate total of 205 runs.
However, there was uneven bounce in the pitch and Australians too face difficulties to chase the total.
Mohammed Yousuf was top scorer with 45 runs while opener Kamran Akmal scored 44 runs. Misbah-ul-Haq made 41 before dramatic dismissal. He was adjudged hit-wicket off a wide delivery.
Well, India will take on West Indies in the last league match of Group ‘A’. But they are curiously waiting for outcome of Aus vs Pak.
India vs West Indies match will start from 6.00 pm (IST). However, Indians are virtually out of the contest but any could be happened in a cricket match. So still hopes are alive for India.
